Sustainability

At Railtown Catering, we enjoy strong relationships with many local producers and purveyors, including North Arm Farms, Barnston Island Herbs and Skuna Bay Salmon. We make all of our products in-house using as many local, organic, fair-trade and sustainably procured products as possible.

We understand that minimizing waste saves space in our landfills and ensures more healthy and well-nourished soil for the next round of produce. Railtown employs a full composting and recycling program within our facility for both internal and post-consumer waste. We also incorporate a four-stream waste management program at our location — bottle recycling, paper recycling, organics and refuse — and transport all post-event waste back to our facilities to ensure proper disposal. On our watch, nothing will make it to a landfill that did not absolutely have to be there.
